Our first stop was to Macy's in Walden Galleria, a place we have visited many times! Normally the plus size section is right beside the regular size sections and close to the dresses, accessories and shoes! Makes sense right? As we arrived in the usual spot for Plus size clothing all we saw was regular sized bathing suits....hmmm...that's not what we were looking for. After walking the entire floor to see if the section had been moved, we finally asked an employee where to find it. Turns out it had moved to the basement where the housewares and men's clothing were. We went down to shop for a bit but were preoccupied with the fact that the section was banished to the basement. How rude! I've even read that some Macy's stores have stopped carrying Plus size selections entirely! What the heck!
We made another stop at a different mall (I can't remember the name) and went in to the JC Penney. Get this...the Plus size section was upstairs and the regular size section was downstairs...and to top it off the men's section was downstairs right beside the regular size women's section! This really bugs me because I like shopping with my mom and it makes it difficult when "her" section is so blatantly disregarded by department stores! Someone tell me why they could not have put the men's section upstairs instead so that all the women's clothes were together. Just saying!!!
What do you think? Do you have a hard time enjoying shopping with a plus size friend? Are you plus size and have a hard time enjoying shopping with a "regular" size friend?
Why do we have to refer to Plus sizes as plus anyways...aren't plus size women regular people too? Do you think that the size sections should be combined? Average comes in all shapes and sizes!
