I was very proud when I had read what Lady Gaga responded to some of her fans who were attempting to stick up for her by saying that she was not fat, or that other people should look at their own bodies before they think of commenting on Lady Gaga's. Instead of comparing ourselves to other people and basing our value on if we are skinnier than other people, we need to start learning how to accept all types of body sizes and shapes. Lady Gaga's response was "I'd rather be fat than shallow."
Responding to another person she said "All day long every day, so what if I got a belly sometimes, sometimes I don't. There's people starving in the world. #whocares." Isn't that the truth? Aren't there more important things that we need to care about as a society? Do we really need to be so concerned with other peoples bodies? Our fascination with other peoples bodies only leads to the precipitation of our very own hatred towards our own bodies.
