Here are some great stories we want you to think and talk about:
Ariel Winters: This girl is making waves for all of us ladies who have scars. After receiving backlash for not covering up her breast augmentation scars, she tweeted this statement: "Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all. :)" We love ya!
Gina Rodriguez: The Jane the Virgin star recently talked body image with Yahoo Health. Gina believes that you can "love your body and still work on it." She explains that we can be at peace with our bodies by accepting ourselves when our bodies are changing and growing. I like her take on body health and balance when she says that "You’d be surprised how little you need to survive. (Though, of course, you need the occasional Snickers bar, donut, or red velvet to treat yourself. Hehe.)" Being healthy is not about being skinny and I think a lot of us forget that. Being healthy means giving our bodies the energy, nourishment and activity that they need and sometimes that means nurturing them with a little sweet therapy! Not only does she have it right when it comes to body positivity, she is also the co-founder of the body inclusive lingerie brand, Naja, which employs single mothers and provides them with health benefits and good wages. What a girl! You can read the whole article here.
