In 2011, a cosmetics company called Make Up For Ever launched a campaign for their High Definition Foundation which featured models who were not Photoshopped.
Many people believe this is the truth because you can see how Average looking her arm is and her arm hair is still present. This is a clever marketing ploy and it could be included in the same ranks as the Dove campaign.
While this is a step in the right direction, we have to remember that the women featured in these ads are models who were chosen because of their near flawless looks, were professionally made up and whose pictures were taken by a professional lighting and photography team.
Love this idea but it needs to be taken further! When can we see more Average girls in the media like the Dove campaign?
Do you think campaigns like this are good for creating a better body image?
